Mission to Give Back
- Haiti 2009

Deanna Dekleyn, an employee of Valley Eye Associates for the past 13 years, along with Peter and Susan Vrabec of the Haiti Medical Mission of WI, traveled to Haiti in November 2008 and December 2009.The team performed eye exams and cataract surgery on needy Haitians.

All of the glasses donated by patients from Valley Eye Associate’s recent "Donate Your Glasses Promotion" went to helping people who otherwise would not be able to see. "It was a very humbling experience to see people who don’t have anything," said Deanna. "The donated glasses made people so happy and so thankful to be able to see."

In all, the team performed cataract surgery on 70 people and gave eye exams and glasses to hundreds more. Although the Donate Your Glasses Promotion is over, Valley Eye Associates still welcomes your donation of used glasses for future mission trips. Deanna also looks forward to returning someday soon to help the people of Haiti again.
